The position of Community Outreach is important to the Humane Society. This allows us to be out in the public, help the public be aware of what services we offer and that we are a vital part of the community.
Duties:
- Research and recommend local events, trade shows, craft fairs, etc. to attend in Oconee County
- Obtain costs and/or negotiate "Free space fees" on behalf of the Humane Society
- Set up and/or tear down displays
- Obtain volunteer staff to help cover show
- Gather appropriate hand outs, paperwork and pass out to public
- Interact with public at events and answer questions regarding Humane Society
- Sell gift items and collect monies and/or take donations
Qualifications:
- Understand role Humane Society plays and what services are offered
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Be dependable
- Be willing to adhere to policies and procedures
Training Requirements:
- Customer Service Training
- Overview of Front Desk (read and understand Volunteer Manual)
