Fundraising

The position of Fundraising/Special Events is an occasional position and may encompass many roles and duties.  We have set events throughout the year as well as potential new events we may wish to attend.  The duties listed below may or may not apply to all events and you may only participate in a portion of these:

Duties:

  • Interact with public at events and answer questions regarding Humane Society
  • Research and recommend local events, trade shows, craft fairs, etc. to attend in Oconee County
  • Obtain costs and/or negotiate "Free space fees" on behalf of the Humane Society
  • Set up and/or tear down displays
  • Obtain volunteer staff to help cover show
  • Obtain raffle prizes or gifts as donations from the community
  • Gather appropriate hand outs, paperwork and pass out to public
  • Interact with public at events and answer questions regarding Humane Society
  • Sell admission / raffle tickets
  • Serve food
  • Sell gift items and collect monies and/or take donations

Qualifications:

  • Understand role Humane Society plays and what services are offered
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Be dependable
  • Be willing to adhere to policies and procedures

Training Requirements:

  • Customer Service Training
  • Overview of Front Desk (read and understand Volunteer Manual)
